What is a Hypocrite ?

So in the related story of California State Senator Roy Ashburn , we see the truth of politics. We elect these folks to represent us, and what do they do ? They proceed to act as if we don't notice their hypocrisy . Here we have a man who has made his political career on voting against Gay Rights. However his personal beliefs are obviously different then those he perpetrates at work. He is working the polls of popular opinion, to keep himself in power. How long til we as a people , decide to elect those people who live their beliefs. What ever happened to the "Statesmen " who led this country in the beginning ? Remember them ? They came to Washington to "Serve their Country " , not leach the life out of it. They served the term of office ,then get this, they returned to their community in the private sector ! Not because they lost an election , but because they refused the inebriation of power. They wouldn't even run for second terms , unheard of in today's political climate. I've yet to see one do the right thing though. I bet this guy even preached about balanced budgets too !
